What Are You Looking For?

- Bit windy outside today. So Eden and I went to IKEA in Greenwich. She had some time in the free crèche, which she loved, and now she’s checking out one of their many play areas. They also have a treasure hunt through the store for kids, but I’m saving that for a day when there are two parents and four hands 😂 It would be the perfect storm if Ikea coffee wasn’t so grim!“Even if you're little, you can do a lot, you Mustn't let a little thing like, 'little' stop you...”Cannot believe it has been twelve years. In some ways it seems like five minutes. Sometimes I still want to tell you things because I know you’d find them funny. Then I realise you’re gone. In other ways it feels like forever. I don’t remember your mobile number any more. There’s a lot I don’t remember. But there’s also a lot that I will never forget. A nurse told me recently that most GPs only see one or two cases of ovarian cancer in their careers. It’s nicknamed “the silent killer” because these symptoms are symptoms that some women (like me) have most months. But if you have them and they’re new, or they change, see your GP and do not leave until ovarian cancer is ruled out. It’s a simple blood test to do so. Don’t be fobbed off. Don’t let them tell you you’re just being a hysterical woman or similar. Had my mum not been fobbed off, she would still be here now. Miss you, mum xx
